Year in Review 2017: Notable properties that changed hands

Baltimore’s commercial real estate market continued its upward surge in 2017 with several notable land deals and emerging trends.

One of the biggest was the October purchase of a Canton marina, helipad and several retail and restaurant properties on the waterfront by developer Scott Plank‘s War Horse Cities for more than $22.5 million.

The sale of the high-profile land will continue the development of the city’s gold coast in the coming year as Plank and his engineers and designers work to sculpt a plan to upgrade and retool the sites for future use, including stepped-up water taxi usage and new retail in Southeast Baltimore’s area already undergoing a continued renaissance with the expansion of Canton Crossing by developer Mark Sapperstein.
